Insulated Glass
Insulated Glass is a prefabricated unit composed of two or more glass panes separated by an air gap and sealed along the edges. This edge seal not only holds the panes together to provide mechanical strength but also protects the enclosed space from external environmental influences.
The air (or gas) trapped between the panes is thoroughly dried using a desiccant, ensuring that the internal space remains moisture-free. Thanks to the low heat conductivity of this enclosed, dry air, the transfer of heat through the glass unit is significantly reduced, making insulated glass an energy-efficient choice for modern buildings.
Various types of glass can be used in the unit, including tempered, laminated, reflective, low-E, tinted, or clear glass, depending on design and performance requirements.
Advantages of Insulated Glass
Energy Efficiency: Reduces air-to-air heat transfer, resulting in substantial savings on heating and cooling costs.
Condensation Resistance: Prevents dew formation on the glass surface, ensuring a clear view even in high-humidity conditions.
Sound Insulation: When one pane is laminated, it significantly reduces sound transmission, providing a quieter indoor environment.
